Elefant Training just added to the Learning Library the 4 courses they did on Xero. Y’all, they charged $149 for these courses this past fall. And now you can get them for $19 per month!
I was rolling in to the gym at the crack of dawn and logging in to my learning portal to listen to another course on the stair master and saw that these 4 modules had been added. If I had water in my mouth I would have done the classic “spew”. I had no idea these would be included (as you can tell if you keep reading the original article because I didn’t mention this).
For $19 bucks this is equivalent to buying a Udemy course AND you get all the additional content I originally mentioned in the article below. And if you are deciding between QBO and Xero, for $10 bucks and 4 hours of your time you can watch these to see if you fall in love with Xero or not. Mega worth it. For the equivalent of a Chipotle Burrito WITH guacamole.

So Elefant Training has come out with a brand new subscription product that would be a very inexpensive product to deep dive into the latest and greatest processes and best practices from the virtual bookkeeping and accounting world. You can “binge watch” some amazing content that is meant for bookkeeping and accounting ENTREPRENEURS.
The content in this Learning Library is NOT meant for someone who wants to be an employee of an bookkeeping or accounting firm.
For $10 a month (going to $19 per month in January 2020), you get access to a long (and growing) list of courses. from the BEST instructors AND practitioners in this field. I believe they have charged up to $49 PER COURSE for these when they do them live for CPE credits, and you get ALL of them for $10 per month and can access them whenever you want.
For the person just starting their bookkeeping side hustle and wants to go straight to the experts for coaching on how to grow, this investment will really pay off.

It looks like each course is about an hour long.
The reason I’m listing these is because this is MY listening order. And I don’t try to tell y’all stuff that I don’t personally do. Where I am in my business (deliberately slow building phase while still prioritizing my Stay-At-Home-Mom main job), these are the areas I need to focus on.
If you are more advanced, you might like the courses on hiring and compensating your employees. Or the courses on really getting efficient with different apps. Or diving deeper into certain industries like Crypto Currency or Restaurants.
My only current complaint is that I really want to be able to treat these courses like a podcast, and it is a bit clunky to do that. The course creators told me that it is BEST to view them like a class, but not everyone has time for that (I raise my hand on this one). As I’ve listened to them, I don’t think that I’ve lost TOO much by not being able to see my screen. And when I what I hear makes me want to see the slide, I can just pick up my phone and put my eyeballs on it.
You CAN listen to it while you are on the stair master or while you are folding laundry or cooking (like I listen to it), BUT you can’t have it running in the background and use your phone for other purposes (like texting or checking email, etc). When I would switch out of the phone screen I was using to listen, it would stop, and then I’d have to go back in to it to restart the audio. Not the end of the world, though.
But I have gotten to know Elefant Co-Founder Amanda Aguillard and she is a friend of the Bookkeeping Side Hustle Group, so I’ve given her this feedback (you know I don’t withhold feedback!). Perhaps over time the way this library is hosted will allow for it. But again, not the end of the world and they are still developing the back end of all of this (hence the bargain price of $10 per month!).
